I fled the violence in Northern Sudan and came to Norway about one year ago. It is nice here and I really want to make friends with Norwegians, but I get moved around a lot so it is difficult.
Back in Sudan, everyone is a friend. It does not matter who you are or what your religion is, we all do what we can to make each other happy in a country torn by internal conflicts and with a president who does not care for his people. At Christmas time we all give one another gifts regardless of what our religion is – Christians, Muslims – it does not matter. It is sad to see my beautiful country torn up like it has been.
But I am positive. I have been given a chance to live a free and happy life without war and I am excited about the future.
